PHIL CEPEDA

Project Manager - Baines/Nibbi, JV

PHIL CEPEDA
There’s a genuine culture of collaboration where team members are always ready to lend a hand when needed, whether it’s solving a problem on-site or offering support in other areas. This collaborative spirit strengthens the project and creates a positive, motivating environment for everyone involved. Additionally, I’ve gained invaluable exposure to the dynamics of local workforce relationships. Working closely with local hiring has given me a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities the community faces. It’s a learning opportunity that not only benefits the project but also helps me grow personally and professionally.

CAROLYN CHIU

Project Manager - San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC)

CAROLYN CHIU
In my role as the Project Manager, I get to influence and/or be a part of every aspect of the project from funding to planning to environmental review to design to construction to public engagement, and ensure that all the project pieces continue to fit and jive together to make a whole complete picture (project). BDFP is the largest and most expensive project to be undertaken by the SFPUC (and possibly the whole City). We are building brand new, much anticipated new infrastructure from the ground up that will be impactful for generations in the neighborhood and the City it resides in. This Project has inspired and driven me to BE a better person and leader in my work and personal life. To be an open, honest, compassionate and inspirational leader.

LIZZY TRUEBLOOD

I’m proud to work at BDFP due to our groundbreaking initiatives in regards to the neighborhood hiring program and BuildHers! Being on this team is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. Seeing our successful partnership with union representatives and community-based organizations grow has been awesome. Uplifting this historically marginalized neighborhood and giving those who live here the opportunity to improve their own backyard is incredibly rewarding. Being from the Bay Area myself it really warms my heart to help make a positive impact on this community.

What I appreciate the most about working with the BDFP team is the strong sense of collaboration and support among colleagues.Everyone is willing to share their knowledge and help each other out, which fosters a positive work environment. The biggest impact of working on this project has been the opportunity to collaborate closely with various union companies and members of my union serving as a subcontractor to the Mech/Jv and the GC. This experience has provided me with valuable insights into the dynamics of team work and management. Being so closely involved in the project has allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of the processes and relationships within the industry, which has been personally enriching.

JORGE TORRES

Health & Safety Manager - MWH/Webcor, JV

JORGE TORRES
Being in Safety, I have the responsibility to ensure that everything we do on the project leads to everyone making home safe each day. I’ve gotten to know many, many workers and I care deeply about their well-being. I’m proud of the fact that I’m contributing to a generational project that will greatly benefit the community with its energy efficiency. Aside from the project itself, I’m proud that our BDFP Team are active in the community, volunteering our time, and efforts.

DORINDA HIMES

Environmental Compliance Manager - Parsons Corporation

DORINDA HIMES
This project has cleaner and greener facility innovations that will positively impact the local community and surrounding environment for years to come. The team culture on site is one of camaraderie - MWH/Webcor is the most communicative and environmentally proactive contractor that I have ever worked with. The team is truly diverse and has more women on site which is awesome.

ISAIAH NJISSANG

ISAIAH NJISSANG
Teamwork is not a phrase that is taken lightly on this project. We all have that frame of mind when approaching problem solving while on site. The scope of work on the BDFP is tremendous and allows every team member to grow in their career. Being a part of a state-of-the-art, brand new facility is exciting. This project has given me the confidence to know that know matter the challenge I have learned within myself that I will prevail.

The biggest impact this project has had on me is when I received the call 2 years ago at a difficult time in my life. The BDFP team made sure I received support in every way possible. I feel seen, safe and comfortable in my job which gives me the strength to get up and want to come to work every day. I am thankful for the BDFP team!
